😊Carers Week – Building Carer Friendly Communities 8–14 June 2026😊

Illustrated “Carers Week” banner with the text inside a blue speech-bubble shape. Diverse cartoon-style people are shown on both sides, including individuals supporting others, a wheelchair user, and people interacting and helping each other, representing community care and support.
This year’s theme is ‘Building Carer Friendly Communities’.
Carers Week is important because it recognises the immense value and dedication of those who provide care, often without pay or formal acknowledgement. Many carers balance their caring responsibilities with work, education and personal commitments, which can lead to stress and isolation. By raising awareness, Carers Week helps to ensure carers receive the recognition and support they deserve, while also encouraging communities and policymakers to take meaningful action.
As part of Carers Week, Signpost for Carers will be holding a drop-in session:
📅 Thursday 11th June
⏰ 10:00am – 12:30pm
📍 Heald Green Village Hall
This is a great opportunity for carers to:
ℹ️Get information, advice and support
❓Ask questions about available services
🗣️Speak directly with a Signpost for Carers representative
💬 No appointment needed – just drop in.
Stay tuned to find out more about how Signpost will be highlighting the need for Building Carer Friendly Communities and their planned schedule of events and outreach in Stockport communities during Carers Week.
