First contact practitioner and physiotherapy services

Did you know that if you are over 18 have a NEW joint / bone or muscle problem you can book an appointment to see the First Contact Physiotherapist Practitioner (FCP) directly via reception and you do not need to see a GP first?

FCP is designed to be a first contact appointment with an Advanced Physiotherapist to assess you and advise you on how to manage your problem. If further referral or investigation or joint injection is required this can also be arranged by the FCP.

So if you have a new bone / muscle or joint problem you can ask for an appointment with the FCP rather than the GP. To do this, you can phone the surgery on 0161 983 9000, email us on gmicb-sto.reception@nhs.net or visit the surgery after 10am and speak to a receptionist.
