Healthcare Assistant

I have worked at Finney Lane Surgery for 3 years now. I started my journey here as a receptionist which I loved but I wanted to establish a career in the clinical side of the NHS and become a Healthcare Assistant. The practice helped and encouraged me to fulfill this ambition which I am extremely grateful for. Whilst still a receptionist some of the training I did included phlebotomy, taking blood pressures and performing ECG’s. I then started as a Healthcare Assistant alongside my reception role. I stepped away from reception and joined the nursing team fully in October 2021. I love every part of being a Healthcare Assistant and it is a joy to come to work and interact with the patients and support and be supported by the rest of the team. I am currently completing the Care Certificate to enhance my portfolio. Away from work I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, especially my daughter who has decided she wants to work for the NHS just like her Mummy. my working days are Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
